Performance Auto Parts Seller Makes the Inc 500 List
Indiana, PA (PRWEB) March 16, 2008 -- Slowboy Racing, a leading performance parts seller for automotive enthusiasts, is pleased to announce their recent appearance on the Inc 500. This is a list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in America according to Inc Magazine, the resource for entrepreneurs.
Slowboy Racing appears on the Inc 500 List at number 297 after growing 863.5 percent in 2007. The performance automotive retailers have shown continuous growth since their founding in 2002, growing from an income of only $602,000 in 2003 to $5.8 million in 2006. They currently have 20 employees, and in the next 12 months they plan to add approximately five positions at the junior, officer and director levels.
Of all the companies on the latest Inc 500 List, Slowboy racing also ranks twelfth in the Top Companies in Retail. The company manufactures and sells aftermarket motors, mainly for rally racing. One product is a $10,000 four-cylinder turbocharged 800-hp engine for a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution that takes four to six weeks to build. They sell about 150 of those per year.
Slowboy Racing is growing so quickly because they are one of the few full-service shops that build engines and sell parts. Michael Huml, the founder and CEO of Slowboy, has been drag racing for ten years and brings that knowledge to his business. He got the name for his company from the nickname given to him by his gearhead buddies.
